Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse Review

Three scouts, on the eve of their last camp-out, discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak.

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) is an American action horror comedy that is best appreciated if it is viewed with an open mind. Just sit back and enjoy what the movie offers without questioning anything. Director Christopher Landon (Disturbia (2007), Paranormal Activity 3 (2011), Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), Paranormal Activity 4 (2012)) did a great job blending humor and horror. I am a zombie fan, and I have never seen some of the stuff that was in this movie in other films before - they were good. The film contains zombie nudity, a few adult humor, sexual content, violence, mutilation, decapitation, gore, bad language, suspense and a very good entertaining time.

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse revolves around three high school sophomores recruiting new members for their group. Ben ( Tye Sheridan - Mud (2012), The Tree of Life (2011), Joe (2013)) and Carter are not sure if they want to continue being scouts. Augie (Joey Morgan) is happy with being a scout and is often left out of plans made by Carter and Ben. Carter ( Logan Miller - I’m in the Band (2009), Ultimate Spider-Man (2012), +1 (2013)) and Ben were invited to a senior secret party, so the trio built their campsite and not so long after were in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The group and a girl must stay together to fight the zombies and to save their lives. Carter eventually finds out that the address for the senior secret party was a fake address, but that is the least of his concerns as zombies are everywhere. Will the trio make it through the zombie apocalypse alive or will one/two/all of them die?

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is not for people who gets easily offended because the movie contains gags involving genitals, R-rated humor, sexual acts, and teenage boys drooling over hot chicks and their body. The movie was filled with surprises throughout and they just kept popping out at me. Needless to say but the movie had several different effects on me including making me cringe throughout the film, move, and laugh. I found myself laughing after the movie has long been finished. The film appears slightly familiar, but it had enough of its own content to make it stand out into being something marvelous. Overall, every zombie horror fan who enjoys a good laugh should see this movie at their earliest convenience.
