He Never Died Review

Jack, a social outcast, is thrust out of his comfort zone when the outside world bangs on his door and he can't contain his violent past.

He Never Died (2015) is an American/Canadian comedic thriller horror film that surpassed my expectations as I thought it was going to be another cheesy movie with cheap special effects. Director and writer Jason Krawczyk (The Briefcase (2011), Class Hates Me (2007), Audrey (2009)) excelled at shooting this film in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He Never Died contains bad language, violence, frightening scenes, suspense, comedy, drama, thrills, immortal, kidnapping, bullet extraction, father-daughter relationship, pliers, headshot, and vampire.

He Never Died revolves around Jack ( Henry Rollins - Heat (1995), Jackass: The Movie (2002), Bad Boys II (2003), Lost Highway (1997)) is an immortal cannibalistic person that decides to live alone. Jack decides to live alone so that he can protect others from himself and also protect himself from society/the outside world. He began following a routine that he religiously sticks by so that he does not have the urge to give in to his impulse of cannibalism. He however still occasionally goes to local diners, hospital to buy blood from an intern, and attend bingo games. Jack was attacked by two goons on one of his usual routine trips. The goons are looking for the intern, Jeremy ( Booboo Stewart - X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Descendants (2015), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011)) and Jack handled them.

Jack later hears from his ex-girlfriend Jillian, who tells him that he has a daughter. His daughter Andrea (Jordan Todosey - Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001), Life with Derek (2005), The Pacifier (2005), Reign (2015)) tried to contact him but had no luck, so Jack agrees to see Andrea but wants nothing to do with Jillian. Jack discovered that Andrea can also see people/things that he can only see. The two goons from earlier, Short and Steve, attacked Jack only for Jack to kill and eat Short. Jack shortly after forces Andrea to leave his apartment because he is afraid for her well being. The movie progresses to showing Jack losing it as he began killing and consuming other people. Things quickly fell apart when a mobster kidnapped Andrea and threatens to kill her if Jack does not surrender himself to them. Watch this movie as it has so much more to offer and tells the backstory of why Jack has to walk Earth as a cannibal for eternity.

Overall, I was entertained while viewing He Never Died and applauded the actors for doing a phenomenal job with their roles. The special effects and makeup department did a fantastic job. Credits also to the cinematographer, editor, and producer for doing a fantastic job bringing this movie together.
