Abandoned Dead Info
Abandoned Dead Review
Synopsis:A security guard, trapped in a run-down inner-city medical clinic, is terrorized by supernatural forces which threaten to overtake her.
Abandoned Dead (2015) is an American horror crime thriller movie that is 77 minutes and was filmed in Artesia, California, USA. Director, producer, and writer Mark W. Curran failed at executing his first movie and should think about attending a few classes before deciding to write and direct another film. Too late for my advice because he went on to writing, producing and directing Poe: In His Own Words, An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe (2016) which I cannot find a release date for.
Rachel Burke (Sarah Nicklin - Nun of That (2008), Exhumed (2011), The Black Dahlia Haunting (2012), Beyond the Dunwich Horror (2008)) is a young security guard that is terrified of the dark. Not sure why she picked to be a security guard in the night if she is scared of the dark. Rachel is assigned to work a night shift at a creepy empty run down addiction medical center/clinic. Rachel discovers that she is not alone, and she should not only be terrified of who is lurking outside but more terrified at what is inside with her. She began experiencing paranormal activities resulting in her fighting demons where the scenes last approximately 10 seconds each.
Rachel is left with no choice except to join with the spirits of dead victims that Doctor Thaddeus Mayfield (Robert E. Wilhelm - SPHINX: Genesis (2015), Masters of War: Soldiers of Distinction (2015)) murdered. Thaddeus is an evil doctor that will do anything to be immortal. Rachel also gains the help of Phillip Haggis (Carlos Ramirez) who is a homicide detective and Doctor Pamela Myers (Judith O’Dea - Night of the Living Dead (1968), October Moon (2005)) who is a perceptive psychiatrist. As they dig deeper for clues, they discover startling secrets from Rachel’s past
There is an unsuspecting twist at the end of this dread-filled movie, but it is might not worth seeing the movie for the twist. I gave the film a three because of the creepy atmosphere, nicely blended mix of a psychological and supernatural and because Sarah Nicklin carried the movie most of the way with her outstanding acting skills. I dislike that the film had a slow paced story line, ineffective jump scares, plot holes that cannot be missed, bad editing, terrible directing skills, awful script and sounds that sound like pots clanking together.
