Frankenstein Reborn Review
Synopsis:Baron Frankenstein (cousin of the late scientist who created the famous monster) lives in seclusion...
Frankenstein Reborn (2005) is an American science-fiction thriller horror movie that was filmed in Los Angeles, California, USA. Director and writer Leigh Scott (Transmorphers (2007), King of the Lost World (2005), Dorothy and the Witches of Oz (2012), The Dunwich Horror (2009)) failed at directing this movie. He is a great director, but I am not sure what went wrong with his directorial skills in this film. I could not believe my eyes while watching this movie that I think it to be a tragedy. Why make a movie that tells the same story as the other movie?
Frankenstein Reborn is exactly what it is, the same old story being retold in the same manner with cheesy acting, cheesy thrills, cheesy storyline, and cheesy everything. Scientist, Victor Franks (Rhett Giles - Quantum Apocalypse (2010), The Apocalypse (2007), Contract Killers (2008)) is a murder suspect of several associates that went missing while working with him. A few detectives are trying to convince/pressure Psychiatric Dr. Robert Walton (Thomas Downey - Dracula’s Curse (2006), Rivers 9 (2015), The Beast of Bray Road (2005)) into confessing. Victor programmed his maniac fantasies, rage and anger into the computer and the computer is what operates the nanobots. Bryce (Joel Hebner - Automaton Transfusion (2006), The Beast of Bray Road (2005), Batman Evolution (2014)) has nanobots in him and is now acting out in rage and he cannot control himself. Bryce is after everyone that Victor has worked with because Bryce feels Victors’ anger through the nanobots. Bryce asked Victor why he wants everyone dead, and that conversation resulted in Victor shooting Bryce and saying that Bryce committed suicide. Resurrections happen soon after and watch the movie if you feel the need to see what happens next.
There was nothing new/refreshing and interesting to this film - not sure why it was made. Maybe to retell the same old story of Frankenstein and his crazy creations. I gave this movie a one because of the effort the staff put into this film to make it in only nine days and also one is the lowest score I can give. The thrills were majorly cheap but worked and the gore was extreme with its decapitations and body parts being pulled off. The movie could have gone without putting any sexual content because the sexual content was a blunder and did not help the film. The characters were not interesting, and the actors did not do a good job portraying the boring characters.
