A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master is another compelling Freddy movie story where the last "survivor" from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) passes her "power" to her wimpy friend. This friend, Alice (Lisa Wilcox), can bring those around her into her dreams so that Freddy feasts on their souls while she gets their special abilities to fight Freddy.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master added something new to what was getting a little old, dream powers and new people. Dream powers were already introduced in A Nightmare on Elm Street part 3. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund ) was also running low on children of the people who killed him. This film brings fresh faces from Elm Street and a new cast. I watched this film the most when I was growing up and I some new elements introduced like the repeating time scene and the cockroach scene. The ending showdown seemed a bit overacted or overplayed by Wilcox as it did not fit her character in a gradual transition. She just got furious about losing everyone she loved to Freddy Krueger and boom before you know it she is ripping souls out of Freddy.
