Australian serial killer, Christopher Bernard Wilder was born on March 13, 1945, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He went on a six-week cross-country kidnapping and raping spree in early 1984 where he have raped at least 12 females and killed at least eight of them in the United States. Christopher was known as The Beauty Queen Killer and began his killing spree on February 26, 1984, in Florida and moved on to Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Nevada, California, and New York. Police officers killed him on April 13, 1984, during a struggle in New Hampshire.
Christopher was suspected of raping a 10-year-old and 12-year-old girl in 1983 in Florida. Officials have considered him after he died to be connected to the unsolved murder case of two teenage girls in Sydney, Australia in 1965 where he resided from birth to 1965.
Christopher "s father was an American naval officer and an Australian national. Christopher almost died at birth and then almost met with death again at age two after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool. He pleaded guilty in 1962 or 1963 to being part of a gang-rape that occurred at a beach in Sydney. He received a sentenced of probation and received electroshock therapy.
Christopher"s wife left him after one week of being married to him in 1968. He then traveled to the United States in 1969 and lived in in an upscale home in Boynton Beach, Florida. He became an extremely successful in real estate and started to like photography.
Christopher had a lot of sexual misconduct/harassment charges from 1971 to 1975 and lured a young female into his van in the pretense of him photographing her for modeling, but he raped her. He was never jailed for raping her or his sexual misconduct behaviors.
Christopher was charged with the sexual offense on two 15-year-old girls who he forced to pose nude for him when he was visiting his parents in 1982 in Australia. He was allowed to return to the United States/Florida while he awaited trial after his bail was paid by his parents. The case did not make it court because of a delay, and then he died before the set hearing date of April 1984. Christopher began a brutal, bloody six-week crime spree in early 1984 across the United States where he murdered about 8-9 females.

Rosario Gonzalez was a model at the Miami Grand Prix where she was last seen on February 26, 1984. Christopher raced in a Porsche 911 in the IMSA GTU class
- March 5 - Elizabeth Kenyon
Miss Florida finalist Elizabeth Kenyon was Christopher"s ex-girlfriend, and she went missing on March 5.
Rosario Gonzalez and Elizabeth Kenyon were never found, but Elizabeth"s parents hired a private investigator to find out information about their daughter"s disappearance. The private investigator"s information helped officials to link Christopher to Rosario and Elizabeth"s disappearances.
- March 15 - Colleen Orsborn (15-years-old)
Colleen Orsborn left her Daytona Beach home on March 15 and never returned. Christopher was staying at a nearby motel in Daytona Beach but checked out on March 15, so no evidence connected him to her disappearance. Colleen"s partially buried body was found a few weeks later near a lake in Orange County, Florida. The body was at first ruled out not to be Colleens but was formally identified several years later in 2011.
- March 18 - Theresa Wait Ferguson (21-years-old)
Christopher lured Theresa Wait Ferguson out of the Merritt Square Mall in Merritt Island, Florida on March 18. He then killed her and discarded her body at Canaveral Groves. Theresa"s body was found on March 23.
- March 20 - Linda Grover (19-years-old)
Christopher kidnapped Linda Grover from Governor"s Square Mall in Tallahassee, Florida on March 20 and drove her to Bainbridge, Georgia. He assaulted her in the mall"s parking lot after she declined his offer for him to photograph her. He tied her hands, wrapped her up in a blanket and put her in his trunk. Christopher raped her that same night at the Glen Oaks Motel in room 30 and then tortured her by using a blow dryer and super glue to blind her. His torture of her did not stop as he put copper wires on her feet and then passed an electric current through them. Linda would be beaten when she tried to escape, but she managed to hide in the bathroom with the door close and started to pound on the walls to alert the people in the next room. Christopher fled the scene with all of Linda"s belongings.
- March 21 - Terry Walden (23-years-old)
Christopher asked Terry Walden who is a wife, mother, and a nursing student at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas to pose like a model and she declined his offer but went missing on March 23. Her repeatedly stabbed body was found in a canal on March 26.
Christopher drove out of Texas with Terry"s vehicle, a 1981 Mercury Cougar.
- March 25 - Suzanne Logan (21-years-old)
Christopher kidnapped Suzanne Logan from the Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City and drove her to room 30 in the I-35 Inn which is Newton, Kansas, 180 miles north of Oklahoma City. He then drove her to Milford Reservoir which is 90 miles northeast of Newton, Kansas after breakfast the next day. He discarded of her body under a cedar tree after stabbing her repeatedly to death.
- March 29 - Sheryl Bonaventura (18-years-old)
Sheryl Bonaventura was held captive on March 29 by Christopher in Grand Junction, Colorado. They were seen together at a diner in Silverton and told staff that they were going to stop in Durango on the way to Las Vegas. Sheryl and Christopher were seen together at the Four Corners Monument. Christopher checked into Page Boy Motel in Page, Arizona. Christopher killed Sheryl by shooting her sometime around March 31 around the area of the Kanab River in Utah, and her body was discovered on May 3.
- April 1 - Michelle Korfman (17-years-old)
Aspiring model Michelle Korfman disappeared on April 1 at the Meadows Mall in Las Vegas while she was there for a/her Seventeen magazine cover model competition.
A photograph surfaced of Christopher stalking her at the competition. Her remains were later found on May 11 near a Southern California roadside rest stop, and her body was identified in mid-June with dental X-rays.
- Tina Marie Risico (16-years-old)
Christopher photographed Tina Marie Risico around Torrance, California area. He then kidnapped her, drove her to El Centro and then assaulted her. Christopher did not kill Tina because he thought that Tina would help him lure other females, so he drove her east through Prescott, Arizona, Joplin, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois and Merrillville, Indiana.
- Dawnette Wilt (16-years-old)
Tina helped Christopher to kidnap Dawnette Wilt from Southlake Mall, and Tina drove the vehicle while Christopher raped Dawnette repeatedly on their way to New York. He tried to suffocate Dawnette in the woods near Penn Yan and then stabbed her twice before leaving her. Dawnette survived the attack and was treated at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan. She informed officers that Christopher was heading to Canada
- Elizabeth Dodge (33-year-old)
Christopher Wilder forced Elizabeth Dodge into his car at the Eastview Mall in Victor, New York and had Tina follow him with Elizabeth"s Pontiac Firebird. He shot Elizabeth and discarded her body behind a huge pile of gravel. Tina and Christopher drove in Elizabeth"s vehicle to Logan Airport in Boston, and he bought Tina a ticket to Los Angeles.
Christopher Wilder was put on the FBI"s ten most wanted fugitives list in the second week of April.
- April 13, 1980 - Carla Hendry (17-years-old)
Carla Hendry escaped from Christopher after he tried to kidnap her in Beverly, Massachusetts. She gave a description of his vehicle which officials broadcast to law enforcement officials.
Died: April 13, 1984, at age 39 in Colebrook, New Hampshire, U.S
Two New Hampshire state troopers, Leo Jellison and Wayne Fortier noticed Christopher at Vic"s Getty service station on the corner of Main and Bridge Street in Colebrook, New Hampshire. Christopher went to his car to get his Colt Python .357 Magnum as the trooper were approaching him. Jellison grabbed Christopher Wilder from the back, and the two of them scuffled while two shots were fired. The first bullet went through Christopher"s body and entered Jellison"s. The second bullet went into Christopher"s chest as the first bullet did piercing his heart resulting in his death. Jellison recovered his severe wound and returned to work like a trooper.
Christopher Bernard Wilder received the nickname "Beauty Queen Killer" because of all of the females he killed. He was cremated in Florida. Christopher personal estate that he left behind was worth over $7 million, and a court-appointed arbitrator in June 1986 said that the remaining money after-tax balance would be divided between Christopher"s victim"s families.

Christopher is suspected in murdering Marianne Schmidt and Christine Sharrock in Australia. The Wanda Beach Murders is still unsolved.
January 16, 1981 - Mary Opitz (17-years-old)
Mary was last seen walking towards a parking lot in Fort Myers, Florida before she disappeared.
February 11, 1981 - Mary Hare
Mary Hare who physically resembled Mary Opitz disappeared from the same parking lot as Mary Opitz. Mary Hare"s decomposed body was discovered in June 1981 and showed that she was stabbed in the back.
Mary Opitz"s case is still unsolved, and authorities believe that foul play is involved in Mary Opitz disappearance.
Two unidentified females skeletal remains were unearthed near Christopher Wilder"s property in Loxahatchee, Florida. Victim one died about 1 to 3 years ago, and her fingers were cut off. Police think that once her body is identified, then they would be able to find out who the killer is/was. Victim two died just a few months ago.
Shari Lynne Ball (20-years-old)
Aspiring model Shari Lynne Ball disappeared from Boca Raton, Florida in October 1983. A hunter found her decomposed body in Shelby, New York but her body was identified in 2014. Shari"s cause of death could not be determined although foul play was suspected. There is no evidence the links Christopher to Shari"s murder except
Her death matches his modus operandi, so he is a suspect.
July 6, 1983 - Tammy Lynn Leppert (18-years-old)
The last time Tammy Lynn Leppert was seen was when she was having a heated argument on July 6, 1983, with a male in Cocoa Beach, Florida around 11:30 a.m.
Tammy"s family dropped the one-million-dollar lawsuit they had filed against Christopher because they felt it was no longer valid after he died. Tammy"s mother, modeling agent Linda Curtis started later that she does not believe that Christopher had anything to do with Tammy"s disappearance. It might just be a coincidence that Tammy disappeared the same time that Christopher was kidnapping models around the area. Christopher did not begin his killing until about a year after Tammy disappeared, but he did have a long history of sexual assaults/crimes.
February 18, 1984
An unidentified female that was strangled to death about two days before being discovered floating in a canal in Davie, Florida is known as the Broward County Jane Doe.
March 7, 1984 - Melody Marie Gay (19-years-old)
Melody Marie Gay was kidnapped while working the night shift at a store in Collier County, Florida. Melody"s body was found three days later in a rural canal. Christopher is ruled out as a suspect, but it is believed that he murdered her because of the similarities in his crimes.
Author John Fowles novel The Collector was found amongst Christopher"s things after he died. The Collector is about a man that keeps a female/woman in his cellar against her wishes/will until she dies.
