Friday the 13th TV Series Coming to The CW!?

The CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed that they are developing a Friday the 13th TV series. Imagine Jason Voorhees as a weekly horror TV series character? The TV series is already being coined as a “sophisticated, horror/crime thriller” that could follow “the ongoing quest of a detective’s search for his missing brother that is somehow tied to Jason Vorhees, a long thought dead serial killer who has now returned to wreak havoc in the new Crystal Lake.” Will this new Friday the 13th TV series coexist with the new Friday the 13th movie coming out May 13, 2016, from Paramount? Nothing is 100% final yet, but more news as this TV series matures.

CW Passes on 'Tales From the Darkside' TV Series Reboot!?

CW has officially passed on the reboot for Tales From the Darkside TV Series Reboot which was written and executive produced by Joe Hill (Horns (2013)), Stephen King‘s son… Ouch! Reasons why CW passed… CW did not like the anthology format and there was no showrunner for the TV series. It is not certain if we will see the reboot of Tales From the Darkside on another network or streaming service. Kris Lemche was set as the main star in the horror anthology TV series.

Also starring in CW’s iZombie Season 1 are Malcolm Goodwin and Rahul Kohli. I watched a few of the episodes on Hulu and I have to say that I am not a major fan of the zombie TV series yet. Maybe I will watch some more episodes in the near future to see if I open up to the iZombie series.

Kris Lemche Cast as Lead in Tales From the Darkside Pilot Episode

Kris Lemche has been cast as the lead in the Tales From the Darkside Reboot Pilot Episode. This is a full reboot of George A. Romero‘s horror anthology series Tales From the Darkside from the 1980’s. In CW’s Tales From the Darkside Season 1, things play out very different than the original horror anthology. There will be one main character who is present in every single episode named Newman (Lemche). Newman is described as “a weathered and tortured young man… the guide to the unsuspecting who come across The Darkside. Newman - a man with his own desperate, wrenching secrets - knows exactly what’s causing the terrifying Darkside Events that drive the series. What he doesn’t know is how to stop them.” Joe Hill (Horns (2014)) is writing and executive producing the new horror TV series. Other executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Mitch Galin and Jerry Golod. Joe Hill is also Stephen King‘s son if that means anything in the form of even more expectations of greatness in the new TV series.

Set to produce the new horror TV series are Joe Hill, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Mitch Galin and Jerry Golod. I was a big fan of the original TV series that lasted for four seasons from 1984-1988. The original Tales From the Darkside was created by George A. Romero with some of his work along with Tom Savini and Robert Bloch. I cannot wait to see CW’s Tales From the Darkside, sounds great saying it.

The Winchester Bros are in for some thrills with this poster tagline “Wrestle Your Demons.”

The CW's iZombie Season 1 Poster

So the CW iZombie TV series has The CW venturing into the zombies genre after almost dominating the vampires sub-genre. The CW’s iZombie Season 1 will introduce us to Olivia “Liv” Moore as she hides the fact that she is a living dead zombie who must eat the dead corpses from the coronas office that she works at. Right now there is no official premiere date but a vague “later this year” release date. This poster “works” but is a little lack-luster in my opinion. iZombie stars Rose McIver, David Anders and Jenna Berman.

CW Confirms iZombie TV Series

CW confirms that the iZombie TV Series will be a full series. iZombie is based on the DC Comics of the same name but slightly different than the comics. Starring in iZombie are Robert Buckley, Rose McIver and Alexandra Krosney.
