    What Horror TV Shows are Ending in 2017?!

    With horror TV shows dominating the TV networks right now, we have to make room for some new horror TV shows by closing the doors on some of the pioneers who helped push horror in the forefront. With news of new horror TV shows currently airing or in development, here are 7 horror series that will conclude in 2017. Some of these shows may have grown on you while others may have thought that they should have ended a while ago, please share your thoughts with us either way. This video was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 event. Barry Allen is left with the crushing question, “who is the villain now?” Now everyone is different and has new lives and Cisco, specifically, is a multi-millionaire. Don’t be shy to watch this Flash teaser trailer a few times. The Flash Season 3 premieres October 4, 2016, on The CW.

    Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is releasing CW’s Supernatural Season 11 on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on September 6, 2016. This release will feature all 23 episodes from Season 11 with a whopping four hours of bonus material. Nice that they decided to deliver a fan-approved version of the season, four hours of special features is awesome!

    Clive Barker's WEAVEWORLD TV Series Progressing on The CW

    Clive Barker’s Weaveworld TV adaptation is pushing forward at The CW. A new writer, yet to be named, has been called to work on a different adaptation of the 1987 book. Clive Barker will serve as executive producer with Angela Mancuso for CBS TV Studios. The modern retelling will focus on “a young pastry chef who has just discovered that she is destined to be guardian of a mythological realm that can be accessed through a portal in an old Savannah mansion.”

    CW announced they are renewing 11 of their TV series lineup including iZombie (Season 3), Supernatural (Season 12), The Vampire Diaries (Season 8), and The Originals (Season 4) for 2016 - 2017.     Megalyn Echikunwoke will play Vixen in the upcoming episode 15 of CW’s Arrow TV series that will air on February 24, 2016. Megalyn Echikunwoke voices the character on CW’s Seed series Vixen, the animated Vixen TV series. It is awesome that Megalyn Echikunwoke can also play the same role in the live-action version too. This news is another example of excellent casting.

    The CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed that they are developing a Friday the 13th TV series. Imagine Jason Voorhees as a weekly horror TV series character? The TV series is already being coined as a “sophisticated, horror/crime thriller” that could follow “the ongoing quest of a detective’s search for his missing brother that is somehow tied to Jason Vorhees, a long thought dead serial killer who has now returned to wreak havoc in the new Crystal Lake.” Will this new Friday the 13th TV series coexist with the new Friday the 13th movie coming out May 13, 2016, from Paramount? Nothing is 100% final yet, but more news as this TV series matures.

    Neal McDonough has been officially announced to play Damien Darhk in CW’s Arrow Season 4. Damien Darhk will be the season’s main villain. Darhk is described as “a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow’s greatest challenges.” The Arrow returns Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 8 pm. McDonough can act, and I cannot wait to see him on Season 4 of Arrow.

    The CW has released their official Fall 2015 lineup schedule, we get the days and times for all our favorite TV series and a few new TV series premieres. Tuesday October 6, 2015 marks the return of The Flash with iZombie starting right after. Wednesday October 7, 2015 we get The Arrow followed by Supernatural. Thursday October 8, 2015 starts with The Vampire Diaries then The Originals. Friday October 9, 2015 starts the premiere of Reign with America’s Next Top Model afterwards.     CW's Hawkgirl Season 1 in Development!?

    CW is reportedly in early development stages for a Hawkgirl TV series. Hawkgirl was teased in The Flash season 2 finale and later shown in CW’s Legends of Tomorrow TV series trailer. Ciara Renee will star as Hawkgirl once the Hawkgirl TV series becomes official. The character’s “real” name is Kendra Saunders and is being described as a young woman who has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. To me, this all sound fantastic and there is so much you can do with a character like this.

    CW has officially passed on the reboot for Tales From the Darkside TV Series Reboot which was written and executive produced by Joe Hill (Horns (2013)), Stephen King‘s son… Ouch! Reasons why CW passed… CW did not like the anthology format and there was no showrunner for the TV series. It is not certain if we will see the reboot of Tales From the Darkside on another network or streaming service. Kris Lemche was set as the main star in the horror anthology TV series.

    Olivia “Liv” Moore (Rose McIver) will live again in CW’s iZombie Season 2. Yes… CW’s iZombie TV Series has been renewed for a second season. Although concrete details like episodes and the premiere date for season 2 have not been released yet, season 1 has 10 episodes and the season finale premieres on May 19, 2015. Also starring in CW’s iZombie Season 1 are Malcolm Goodwin and Rahul Kohli. I watched a few of the episodes on Hulu and I have to say that I am not a major fan of the zombie TV series yet. Maybe I will watch some more episodes in the near future to see if I open up to the iZombie series.

    Kris Lemche Cast as Lead in Tales From the Darkside Pilot Episode

    Kris Lemche has been cast as the lead in the Tales From the Darkside Reboot Pilot Episode. This is a full reboot of George A. Romero‘s horror anthology series Tales From the Darkside from the 1980’s. In CW’s Tales From the Darkside Season 1, things play out very different than the original horror anthology. There will be one main character who is present in every single episode named Newman (Lemche). Newman is described as “a weathered and tortured young man… the guide to the unsuspecting who come across The Darkside. Newman - a man with his own desperate, wrenching secrets - knows exactly what’s causing the terrifying Darkside Events that drive the series. What he doesn’t know is how to stop them.” Joe Hill (Horns (2014)) is writing and executive producing the new horror TV series. Other executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Mitch Galin and Jerry Golod. Joe Hill is also Stephen King‘s son if that means anything in the form of even more expectations of greatness in the new TV series.
