Where does Aeon Flux (2005) stand among horror films? Our review examines the scares, pacing, and what makes it unique in the genre.

Karyn Kusama directed AEon Flux (2005) stars my girl Charlize Theron so you know I had to see it. AEon Flux received four movie nominations but did not actually take home an award.

AEon Flux stars Theron as our main character Aeon Flux who is working for the rebels and overthrowing a future Goodchild dynasty. When she takes on the mission to assassinate the chairman, she learned that there is a bigger mystery at play.

Watching AEon Flux was visually captivating and an experience to enjoy. However, the movie did not hold my interest besides me wondering what will Theron do next. Even watching this film mainly for Theron was short-winded as her performance or screenplay was lacking that enjoyment that I usually feel while watching her. I will not watch this film again, and I might put this film on the short list of the worst Charlize Theron movies list. I had a hard time trying to stay investing in the characters of this movie, not for everyone and do not watch if you are easily bored or enjoy a good story. Maybe my expectations were just too high.
