Bound (2015) is an American thriller, er***c, romantic, drama with horror that was filmed in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA. Director and screenplay writer Jared Cohn (Bikini Spring Break (2012), Jailbait (2014), Born Bad (2011), 12/12/12 (2012)) did an awful job directing and writing this movie. The screenplay was boring and was overfilled with er***c scenes that display nudity sometimes. This movie was not my cup of tea and I assume that it will be immensely enjoyed by movie fans who love er***c s**ual movies. The movie is comparable to and is a cliche of 50 Shades of Grey (2015) but suffers greatly. I gave this movie a three because it deserves credit for trying and Charisma Carpenter did a great job with her role although her wrinkles were captured on close up angles of her face. Overall it is a movie that I do not recommend to anyone unless you want to see Carpenter’s nude body. The sets, camera angle, twist, plot, and almost everything about the movie was weak.
Bound revolves around Michelle Mulan (Charisma Carpenter - Angel (1999), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), The Expendables (2010), The Expendables 2 (2012)) entering a new lifestyle and being a single mother. Michelle tries to raise her daughter, Dara (Morgan Obenreder - Rz-9 (2015), Haven’s Point (2012), Mascots (2016)) to be on the right track. Michelle is a real estate broker who is the new chairperson of a failing firm and is qualified for the job but only got the promotion because her father is the chairman. The other chairman’s want to sell the firm, but Michelle thinks that merging the firm with a larger company will benefit them. The movie is not based on her position at the firm as much as it is based on being submissive to s**ual slavery. She is faithful to her boyfriend George (Mark McClain Wilson - The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), The Four Corners of Nowhere (1995), Curious George (2006)) and does not cheat on him although her s**ual desires are not satisfied. Michelle met Ryan (Bryce Draper - Muck (2015), Minutes to Midnight (2015), Downhill (2015)) who is fifteen years younger than her and introduces her to a new lifestyle.
Fast forward and we see Michelle making a decision that she normally would not do. She said no to George’s marriage proposal and began going out with Ryan who introduces her to B&D and S&M resulting in her cheating on George which leads her to end her relationship with George. Michelle began loving her new lifestyle where she is submissive to Ryan’s dominating personality. She soon starts calling Ryan her master and does not get very angry when he insults her clients. Her father Walter’s (Daniel Baldwin - Vampires (1998), Homicide: Life on the Street (1993), Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991)) informed her that Ryan is a car thief, but Michelle brushes it off. The movie goes on to showing Ryan seducing Dara and making her submissive. What will Michelle do when she learns that her daughter is also being used by Ryan? The movie was interesting from this point on and captured my undivided attention.
