Feast II: Sloppy Seconds (2008) is an action comedy horror movie that is the sequel to Feast (2005). The Feast series went on to making Feast 3: The Happy Finish (2009) which did not do so well as the first installment. Feast (2005) had a low budget and was fairly entertaining with gory scenes. I was displeased with John Gulager (Feast (2005), Piranha 3DD (2012), He Was a Quiet Man (2007)) doing a bad job of directing a movie that had potential. John did a great job directing the first installment, so I am not sure why he fell short with this film.
Feast II picks up not too long after the events in the first film, appears to be the next morning after Feast (2005) finished. We see Biker Queen (Diane Ayala Goldner - The Collector (2009), Halloween II (2009), Pulse 2: Afterlife (2008)) spotting a dog running around in the desert. The dog is carrying Biker Queen’s twin sister’s severed hand in its mouth. Queen lost it and shot the dog four times with her shotgun and then found the Bartender (Clu Gulager - The Virginian (1962), The Return of the Living Dead (1985), The Tall Man (1960), A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985)) hiding under a wrecked car. She demands him to tell her what happened to her sister as she beats him severely. Queen tied the Bartender to her motorcycle and rode off after the Bartender told her that someone accidently blew up her sister. I was like, what is she doing riding as nothing else is wrong. Hey, there is evil cannibalistic r**ing monsters everywhere but she does not seem to care. After a few events, circumstance forces the Biker Queen and a few others to be together as a group forming an alliance with bikers and others.
I was in shock while viewing this movie because it is so similar to Feast (2005) but then again what different can be done except to slip in a different environment. I found it strange that the town in this movie is also the same town in the first installment but for some reason, there is more stuff in this town than in the first film. The townspeople appear not to know that there are monsters lurking everywhere in their town. The green screen scenes were painfully visible and wished that they were not using at all if it could not be done to standards where it is not visible. The monsters were okay in the dark but appears as though much effort was not given to them in the daylight. I know this movie had a low budget, but there are so many other movies with a lower budget than this film that did amazingly well - it is all on the director and his crew.
