Our review of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) dives into the story, the scares, and whether it truly delivers the horror fans crave.
Oddly enough, Carpenter and Hill decided to take the storyline of the Halloween series in another direction with this tepid third entry. Dan O’Herlihy makes masks that make disturbing things happen to the people wearing them (a boy’s head explodes in a shower of various bugs). Tom Atkins finds out the masks have exploding devices that will detonate while watching a specific television commercial on Halloween night, and sets out to stop the evil plot. While this movie does have it’s moments, it’s a far cry from the previous flicks involving Michael Myers. Thankfully, the series returned to that storyline with it’s fourth entry. Worth skipping.
