Grizzly (2014) is a Canadian-American action thriller horror movie that was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Grizzly is also known as Red Machine (2014) and Endangered (2014). David Hackl did an awesome job directing this movie although he only has two previous directing credits before Grizzly. He has over 17 credits as a production designer, and I applaud him for his directing skills. Grizzly (Red Machine) will be released in the North America in May 2015. You can, however, order a German Blu-ray from Amazon.de if you cannot wait until May to see a real live bear in an amazing movie. The catch is you have to make sure that you have a Region-Free DVD or Blu-ray to view the DVD.
Rowan (James Marsden - X-Men (2000), X-Men 2 (2003), Superman Returns (2006), Enchanted (2007)) went on a murderous spree and has now returned home to Armpit, Alaska. Beckett (Thomas Jane - The Mist (2007), Deep Blue Sea (1999), Dreamcatcher (2003), Face/Off (1997)) is a police officer and is not happy to see his brother, Rowan return home. Beckett has threatened Rowan to lock him up in prison if he does not tell him why he has returned. Rowan actually came back to Armpit to help find friends who went missing while poaching bears. This is not a good situation for Rowan because there is a crazy maniac grizzly bear chasing people around and killing them in the most horrific way possible. Beckett realizes that he has to save his wife as she is deaf and is out taking pictures of baby animals. The body counts are rising, and now it is a race for time to save his wife. The brothers eventually have to join together to fight this humongous blood hungry grizzly bear. Rowan and Beckett have to also fend off bear hunters, poachers, and wildlife conservationist. Watch the movie when you can to see who survives this wild crazy beastly bear. By the way, one of the actors had their face… by the bear - watch the movie to see who it is.
The cast did a spectacular job with their roles. The sets/sceneries were simply gorgeous excluding the blood bath scenes. I like this movie mainly because of the use of a real bear and not CGI. This movie is a cliche but it stands alone as well, and I applaud it for taking the chance because it did well. I have not seen a movie like this in a long time, so it was a pretty nice change.
