Our take on Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood (2003) explores its plot, scares, and horror highlights to help fans decide if it deserves a place on their watchlist.
Leprechaun - Back 2 Tha Hood (2003) is an American fantasy comedy horror movie that is the sixth installment of the Leprechaun series. Writer and director Steven Ayromlooi (Return of the Sun Devil (1996), Nathan Grimm (1998), The Sun Devil and the Princess (2014)) failed at executing this movie. Steven was the writer and director, so all the blame is on him for this awful dreadful watch. I have said this many times before - donate the money to a cause worthy charity instead of wasting it on this so called movie that is anything but entertaining. This is the last movie to star Warwick Davis (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005), Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)) as the leprechaun.
The Leprechaun is at it again, rampaging through the town to find his stolen gold and will kill those who stole it. A group of urban kids stole the gold so that they can have their wildest dreams come true. I gave this movie a two because I like that the backstory of the Leprechaun was told. A king had summoned the Leprechauns to protect his gold. All of the Leprechauns return to where they came from after the King died except for one Leprechaun. The one Leprechaun still guards the King’s gold and is very obsessed with it.
Clairvoyant Esmeralda (Donzaleigh Abernathy - Gods and Generals (2003), Don King: Only in America (1997), Miss Evers’ Boys (1997), Ghost Dad (1990)) told friends, Emily Woodrow (Tangi Miller) and Lisa Duncan (Sherrie Jackson) their fortune. Esmeralda told Emily (Tangi Miller - Felicity (1998), Madea’s Family Reunion (2006), Love… & Other 4 Letter Words (2007)) and Lisa (Sherrie Jackson - 3 Wise Women (2005), Psychonauts (2005), Gaydar (2002)) that they will encounter wealth soon but they will have to not accept it. Esmeralda told the girls that if they accept the gold then evil will rise, and they have to pay a great price. The girls and their friends split the gold amongst themselves after Emily fell in a hole and found the gold in a tunnel. Needless to say, just like every other movie, the Leprechaun is awake and rampaging through the town killing everyone in his way because he wants his gold back.
I would not recommend this movie to anyone because it was a total waste of time. The only good thing I found about this movie is the backstory and some of the sceneries. The movie failed in every way, and the actors did a horrible job with their parts.
