Horror fans will enjoy our review of My Best Friend is a Vampire (1987), where we cover its story, scares, and how it ranks among modern horror classics.
Jimmy Huston directed My Best Friend is a Vampire is a vampire movie I grew up with and enjoyed all of the little tongues in funny cheek scenes. Not exactly a very good vampire film but good enough to be on anyone’s must-watch list. The sets are not over the top like big budget films but the story is great, and the actors do a terrific job of keeping you in the film. I actually have a slightly greater liking for this vampire film when compared to the Jim CarreyOnce Bitten of 1985.
I enjoyed the ride of Jeremy Capello (Robert Sean Leonard) living an alternate lifestyle as a new vampire while attending high school and drinking pigs blood in order not to kill humans. You have to do yourself a favor and watch this vampire movie.
I found myself watching this film every few years as a teenager and still laughed at certain scenes. Watch this movie as soon as you can; you will have fun at all ages. The only let down for me was the ending, it carried a different tone than the entire middle of this film.
