Within These Walls Plot Synopsis:

A prisoner in her own home, a captive in her own body. Assaulted and trapped with no one to hear her cries for help...and knowing no one will believe her if they do. This is the terrifying reality Alaina finds herself in when she moves in to the house her mother died in. At first she thinks it's the loss of her mother that is haunting her, but she is soon shown it is something far more malicious and unrelenting. The spirit taunts her as it invades her body, mind, and soul, completely trapping her. Alaina has to fight for answers on what really happened to her mother if she has any hopes of survival. She must find a way to endure this monster who lives and breathes to rob her of her sanity as it demands a savage hold on her.

Within These Walls (2015) Review

Within These Walls (2015) is an American horror movie that was filmed in Reno, Nevada, USA and Pasadena, California, USA. Director James Tucker (Addiction (2003), Baby Fat (2004), Within These Walls (2015), Aunt Rose (2005)) did a phenomenal job bringing us this low budget movie. The movie contains violence, suspense, thrills, mystery, sitting on the edge of your seat moments, scares and bone chilling moments.

Alaina (Kelsey Zukowski - Words Like Knives (2013), Bacon (2012), What They Say (2011)) is an aspiring writer. She decided to move to her childhood home and live by herself. Her childhood home is where her mother died. Her father Will (Marv Blauvelt - Psycho Street (2011), Snake with a Human Tail (2014), A Christmas Scream (2010), Sculpture (2009)) does not like the idea of Alaina moving into the home but eventually supports her. Alaina plans on writing a book at the house and while doing so, she feels something around her. Can it be the presence of her mother? Alaina soon discovers that it is not her mother’s presence that she feels but something devilish in a demonic way. The entity tries to learn the truth behind her mother’s death as the entity invades her in every possible way to the point where she feels her sanity disappearing. Alaina turns to Sage Hawthorne (Felissa Rose - Sleepaway Camp (1983), Satan‘s Playground (2006), Under Surveillance (2006), The Perfect House (2012)), who is a psychic. Sage cannot help Alaina as the demonic entity is too powerful for her. Alaina feels trapped and has no one to help her. The demonic force is eating away at their sanity, and she has to try and find out how to stop it before she ends up like her mother.

Within these Walls was a spectacular watch that did not contain much CGI effects that gave it a bonus. The movie made me use my mind a lot with different thoughts as to what was going on and what will happen next. I like that the movie kept me on my toes. I felt connected to Alaina as she made her way into darkness and as she fought for her sanity. Alaina, by far was the best actor in this movie and did justice to her role.
