Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) shocked audiences with its ending. Our spoiler-free review explains the scares, themes, and what makes this film unforgettable.

Superman IV - The Quest for Peace (1987) is an American action superhero adventure movie. Director Sidney J. Furie (Iron Eagle II (1988), Iron Eagle, The Ipcress File (1965)) failed miserably and disappointed so many families across the nation with this disastrous movie. Superman IV is the first movie in this series that is not produced by Alexander Salkind and Ilya Salkind. Superman IV was not a box office hit, and it is known to many as the worst film ever to exist. The good news is that Gene Hackman returned as Lex Luthor and created an evil Solar-powered Superman clone - that did not help the movie.

Here is a little information about Superman IV - A spaceship of cosmonauts was thrown off course after debris interfered with its course and Superman saved it. Superman (Christopher Reeve) then visits Smallville (his hometown) as Clark and uncovers the capsule that brought him to Earth in the unkempt barn. The barn is not taken care of because his adoptive parents died, and he inherited everything from them. He removes a luminescent green Kryptonian energy module and listens to a recording left by his mother stating that the power can only be used once. After numerous events, Superman attended a meeting of the United Nations and told them that he will get rid of all of the nuclear weapons from the planet. A lot of nations fire their nuclear weapons into space and Superman caught all of them and put it into a giant net and threw it into the sun. Lenny Luthor (Jon Cryer) breaks his uncle, Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) out of jail, and the movie continues to be horrible after one event after another.

I would say for everyone to stay clear of this old movie and see the new ones that most Superman fans would like or love. The actors did a terrible job with their roles and the sets, shots, camera work and everything was horrible. I am not sure what else to say about this movie but if someone gives it a one, then there might just be something majorly wrong with it.
