HellHorror’s review of Witching Hour (2014) breaks down the plot, scares, cast performances, and its lasting impact on the horror genre.
Witching Hour (2014) is an American comedy horror movie that is 90 minutes long and was filmed in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, USA, Los Angeles, California, USA and in various parts of North Carolina, USA. Directors Ken Comito (segments: Framing, The Birthday Present, Let There Be Dark, Blood Writes), Melanie Comito (segment: Misfortune), Victoria King (segment: Gone), Josh Spiegel (segment: The Rules of Being Dead) need to find something else to do as they have no concept of a good horror movie. I would recommend everyone to stay away from this movie as it is one of the worst that I have ever seen.
Witching Hour is comprised of many segments in the worst way possible that is broken down into six story lines that tried to blend together to make one huge storyline. It did not work. Logan (Emily Johnson-Erday) and Dee (Reanna Roane), college roommates and friends. Logan and Dee, who is deaf, visited a store that sells antique items and decide to buy an antique clock although the store owner told them that the clock is evil and has a demonic history. The girls ignore all warnings and not so long after, Logan began to hallucinate, hear voices/things and started to see things that are not there or happening. Dee is not affected by the demonic clock at all, and there are suggestions in the movie as to why she is not affected. Dee and Logan are in for an adventure of demonic behaviors.
The special effects, acting, cinematography, set and everything about this movie was awful. I would given it a zero if I can, but I cannot. The movie was extremely hard to keep up with because it was daunting to watch, boring and the storyline was clueless. This movie wreaks, and I am not happy that I saw this movie because I felt as though I have wasted that precious time that I could have been doing something worthwhile.
