Altitude (2010) is a is a Canadian sci-fi horror TV movie that was filmed in several locations in British Columbia, Canada. Director Kaare Andrews (The ABCs of Death (2012), Cabin Fever: Patient Zero (2014)) did a great job giving us enough backstory about the main characters but did not help the movie from being a failure. The film contains violence, a creature that appears fake, suspense, dragged on storyline, bad language and frightening scenes for the younger audience.
Sara (Jessica Lowndes - 90210 (2008), The Prince (2014), Autopsy (2008)) recently received her pilot’s license. She plans on flying to a concert with her boyfriend, Bruce Parker (Landon Liboiron - Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001), Hemlock Grove (2013), The Howling: Reborn (2011)) and friends Sal, Mel, and Cory. Sara being the nice girlfriend lets Bruce fly the plane that resulted in the inevitable. Bruce lost control of the plane that leads from one disaster to another as the group of friends life were once again in jeopardy. The plane only has one hour worth of fuel left and if the problem is not fixed everyone will die as the aircraft will fail. The group soon discovers that they do not only have to worry about the plane but also the creature with huge tentacles that is out of the aircraft. After a few events, Bruce awakens to one of his friends being dead and the monster that awaits them outside. He finally confesses to Sara and her friends that he was in the crash that took the lives of his parents and her mother - not like it matters now if they are going to die, right? Bruce decides to open his comic book and relates that they are living the details listed in the comic book, yay, no.
The movie was cheesy, and I was not entertained by it as almost everything about the film was unwatchable with unbelievable acting and a weak screenplay to blame. The movie failed in almost every possible way resulting in a score of one and that is only because of the backstory of the characters. The plot was weak with many holes, and the special effects were terrible. The actors did not help the movie with their awful acting jobs, and the sets were dreary. Overall do not watch this film because there are so many other wonderful movies that you can enjoy.
