Where does American Conjuring (2014) stand among horror films? Our review examines the scares, pacing, and what makes it unique in the genre.

Bind (2014) is a Canadian horror movie that turned out to be a huge disappointment. Directors Dan Walton (In from Outside (2015), Feast (2005), Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)) and Dan Zachary (Mortal Remains (2015), Darkest Hour (2005), Masters of the Sea (2006)) makes a terrible duo when it comes to directing. The Dan’s do not have much experience in the movie industry, and it shows drastically in this teeth clenching movie.

Bind starts by showing us a little girls birthday party that ended in tragic. It was very disturbing for me to see the events that took place at the party. The birthday girl stabs a guest after her attendee became possessed by an evil spirit. The stabbing is not seen but is suggest after seeing the little girl with a knife and seeing the aftermath. Some time after, we are then introduced to a young annoying family that is interested in purchasing the very same home that… Ben (Daren Matheson - The Acting Teacher (2014), In the End (2015), The Morning After the Night Before)) and his sometimes clueless wife, Carol (Lynn Csontos) moved into the home with their family. Their eldest daughter is cell phone addict Zoe (Mackenzie Mowat - Good Luck Chuck (2007), Smile of April (2009), Snow Buddies (2008), Feint (2013)) who loves to wear goth makeup. Thier little girl is angel Alyssa (Eliza Faria - The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012), The Christmas Consultant (2012), Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story (2011)) is the littlest of the house and wished that everyone paid more attention to her. The movie is a cliche, and we see Ben being possessed by an evil spirit that violently abuses his wife and axes his loving dog to death. Carol finally tried to get her kids out of the house which her dangerous husband resides in.

My thoughts while watching this movie - why would parents/they buy an abandoned orphanage that is ridiculously cheap?? Did they not think why in the world someone else did not buy it. Why did the parents not listen to Alyssa on the first day when she said there was an old lady in the house looking at them through the window. The dog refuses to enter the house, and they hear noises in the house at night… furniture moving - I would have been out of there in a heartbeat. cuddly dog refuses to enter the home. Bind was a waste of my time because it was so utterly boring and was such a cliche in the worst way possible. There is too many movies out there with better storylines and acting than this. Stay clear and far away from this movie.
