This in-depth review of Apollo 18 (2011) explores its story, characters, and scares in detail, offering insights for every horror fan.

Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego directed Apollo 18 (2011) is coined as a horror sci-fi mystery movie. Apollo 18 won 1 movie award and 2 award nominations. Apollo 18 was filmed on an estimated $5 million taking in $17.6 million at the US box office.

Apollo 18 is about figuring out the decades-old found footage of NASA’s Apollo 18 mission was abandoned. Adding to that NASA conspiracy theory is that NASA found something on the moon that they did not want to reveal to the public. The two astronauts were on a secret expedition and discovered something too terrifying to share.

I was originally pretty stoked to see Apollo 18 because of all of the great marketing. The acting was okay, but the plot and story was just not my cup of tea. I mean, it is terribly slow, and I am not expecting Ridley ScottAlien (1979) type action here, but I found myself losing interest about halfway through the movie.

As far as I am concerned; they totally dropped the ball on what could have been a great conspiracy theory, Area 51 type movie but instead we got some kind of mush that was put together in an extremely boring manner. Even by the time you watch the ending you are like, did I really see this and what happened to all the crazy scenes that I expected to see? Don’t even let someone pay you to see this film.
