This in-depth review of Blood Moon (2014) explores its story, characters, and scares in detail, offering insights for every horror fan.

Blood Moon (2014) is a UK English horror movie that I had high expectations for and they were not met. Director Jeremy Wooding (Bollywood Queen (2002), Sari & Trainers (1999), The Magnificent Eleven (2013)) did not deliver as well as he did in previous movies. He failed to impress me this time and did not deliver what the trailer portrayed. The movie we shot nicely with great light, awesome camera angles but it focused too much on the main character instead of the wolves who did not get much screen time. The movie was too slow paced for the majority of the time, but it was not boring or thrilling. The movie was a nice watch overall that entertained to a certain point and is a movie that I will not watch again. It is up to horror fans to know if they want to watch this movie after reading this movie review because everyone has different preferences. The movie, however, contained a few intense scenes, a little blood, awful looking creatures, clever one liners, good acting, and great cinematography.

Blood Moon is set in 1887 in Colorado and starts with a violent bank robbery by the Norton Brothers. The brothers fled the scene and headed to a small town named Pine Flats to gain the help of Black Deer, who is a local Native American woman. Local lawman Wade (Jack Fox) follows the Norton Brothers and met with Black Deer. Black Deer informed Wade about skinwalkers who are people that were exiled from their tribes because of practicing shape shifting. Black Deer (Eleanor Matsuura - Breaking and Entering (2006), Alan Partridge (2013), The Love Punch (2013), Spooks: The Greater Good (2015)) told Wade that the skinwalkers come out on nights when there is a blood moon. The Norton Brothers, Jeb and Hank (Raffaello Degruttola and Corey Johnson) captured themselves a group of travelers. The Norton Brothers is not at ease with their captives and is unaware of the bigger threat that is hungry for blood and is awaiting them. There is more to the movie, but I leave it up to you to discover the untold.

Blood Moon is a hit or miss, and like I said, it is up to horror fans to decide if they enjoyed, like or dislike this movie. There were some pretty great scenes, but it does not make up for the areas where the movie fell short. I applaud the actors because, without them, I would have given this movie a three. Watch the movie and let us know your take on it.
