Reviews: Deadgirl (2008) Movie Review

This in-depth review of Deadgirl (2008) explores its story, characters, and scares in detail, offering insights for every horror fan.

Deadgirl (2008) is co-directed by Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel. Be forewarned, this is not your average horror movie with the walking dead zombies. Instead, it is a weird and twisted coming of age story for these unfortunate teenagers.

Deadgirl is about the twisted desires of two high school boys. Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) and JT (Noah Segan) discover an imprisoned woman in an abandoned mental asylum. They discover that she is dead but is still animated. The Deadgirl (Jenny Spain) is so beautiful, and tied up, that JT cannot help himself from having "relations" with the seemingly dead zombie girl.

Deadgirl is a film that I will not be watching again. The subject matter is shocking and distasteful. I did not realize that Candice King also starred in this film before her The Vampire Diaries TV series days. Perhaps if you are a big fan of Hostel (2005) and similar movie titles, you will enjoy this film.
