Adam Ripp‘s directed Devil’s Whisper (2017) ran through the horror film festivals receiving 6 movie award wins and was nominated for 5 movie awards. Devil’s Whisper is a drama horror thriller movie about a boy as the victim of demon possession by demonic forces. Devil’s Whisper is a supernatural horror film but has undertones of a psychological thriller.

Devil’s Whisper is about Alex (Luca Oriel) who wants to become a Catholic priest. After his grandmother dies, he finds a mysterious box that he tries tremendously hard to open. After opening the box, Alex realizes that the box was so hard to open because it imprisoned an ancient evil demon that tormented children since man was created on Earth.

Devil’s Whisper is an immersive religious horror movie due to the emotional performances played by the actors although there are a few cheesy dialogues in this film. This movie lacks major jump scares and practical effects to scare the viewer. Father Cutler (Rick Ravanello) shines in his performance, and Alex (Luca Oriel) gives a great performance as the troubled teen on the verge of demon possession. The scenes could have been shot a little differently to have more impact on the viewer too.

Devil’s Whisper is a good watch but is better watched as a psychological thriller movie.

Sony Home Entertainment and Vega Baby Releasing are releasing Devil’s Whisper on November 14, 2017.
