Our review of Dig Two Graves (2014) dives into the story, the scares, and whether it truly delivers the horror fans crave.

Dig Two Graves (2014) is an American mystery-thriller horror movie that is 97 minutes long and was filmed in Marion, Illinois, USA. Director, producer and co-writer Hunter Adams (The Hungry Bull (2011)) did an astonishing job directing his second full-length movie. I think 2015 is going to be a good year with all of the new directors. The movie is captivating with its dark, eerie fantasy storyline of grief. Dig Two Graves is a dark thriller that contains that story of a young girl that has to make a life-changing decision.

Dig Two Graves is about Jake Mather (Samantha Isler - Sean Saves the World (2013), Home Run (2013), No One Knows (2012)) who recently lost her brother. She only has her grandfather, Sheriff Waterhouse (Ted Levine - Monk (2002), Shutter Island (2010), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), American Gangster (2007)) to be there for her and help her get on with her life. Jake is very devastated because she could not save her brother and turns to three moonshiners. The moonshiners promised Jake that they would bring her brother back if she can give a life to get a life. The moonshiners wants Jake to take the life of a young boy who has a crush on her - Will she do it to get her brother back? Jack has to make a huge decision that is morally wrong and is thinking about that offer as she starts unraveling her grandfather and the moonshiners history. The moonshiners has a tunnel--watch the phenomenal treat to see what I a referring too.

I love the fact that I can relate to the characters and feel their regrets, grief, sorrows and go along the journey with them as family is being explored in their bittersweet moments. It also makes me think about how far will a person go to protect their family? What can an innocent person do to protect their family? This movie brings a lot of questions to one’s mind about family that is purely amazing. The camera work, sets, tone, dreary backgrounds, music, lights, and cinematography were all just spectacular.
