White Rabbit (2013) shocked audiences with its ending. Our spoiler-free review explains the scares, themes, and what makes this film unforgettable.

White Rabbit (2013) is an American drama thriller movie that is 90 minutes long and was filmed in Louisiana, USA. Director Tim McCann (Revolution #9 (2001), Desolation Angels (1995), The Aftermath (2014), Nowhere Man (2005)) did a fantastic job executing this movie. It brought tears to my eyes for the troubled teenager but also brought light to me. The film contains violence, suspense, terrifying moments, graphic images, and human behavior, and I would not recommend to children of young age to see this movie. I would not let my 12-year-old see it.

White Rabbit is about Harlon Mackey (Nick Krause - The Descendants (2011), Boyhood (2014), How to Eat Fried Worms (2006)), who has terrifying visions. His visions started after his abusive alcoholic father (Sam Trammell - True Blood (2008), The Fault in Our Stars (2014), Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007), Autumn in New York (2000)) made him kill a rabbit when he was hunting at a younger age. Besides these horrific visions, he is also bullied in school and has an undiagnosed mental illness that is not improving. He commits terrifying, violent acts from his visions and the things he hears. Harlon appeared to be changing, or at least we hope so, after he met Julie (Britt Robertson - The First Time (2012), Dan in Real Life (2007), Ask Me Anything (2014), and The Longest Ride (2015)) who is new to town. Things turn sour quickly after Julie betrays Harlon and Harlon’s imagination, and reality seems to blend. Harlon is not doing well in school, and there is a chance that he might be held back.

Harlon spends a great of time with his best friend Steven (Ryan Lee - Super 8 (2011), This Is 40 (2012), Trophy Wife (2013)), shooting his rifle and reading comics. Somehow, the comic starts speaking to Harlon and has a hand in his crimes. I felt sad for Harlon and what he has to go through. No one should go through that, I did not like the crimes he committed, but then again, he could not help it because of his life issues, or could he have helped it? I greatly appreciate this movie and that it offers us a chance to peek into the mind of a mentally disoriented person with a damaged soul. White Rabbit is a movie that everyone should see because it deals with real-life matters. Some people may not like it, but if you think about it over a few days, some light may shine.
