Synopsis / Plot Summary: A journalist and his female companion travel to interview a famous musician in Rome where a generous invite to a country estate becomes something much more than anyone expected.

We are pleased to share that filmmaker Hala Matar makes her directorial debut with the award winning feature film ELECTRA - a stylish, sexy, and seductive thriller set in Italy, starring Academy Award® nominee Maria Bakalova (The Apprentice, Borat).

ELECTRA follows two journalists who travel to the lush Italian villa of a famous musician and his partner for an interview, but all is not as it seems and the trip spirals into deceit and deadly betrayals. 

Hala Matar is the first Bahraini woman to release a feature film and is known for her music videos and audacious commercial work with fashion brands which includes Moncler, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

The film is a millennial/Gen-Z riff on The Talented Mr. Ripley and a dash of Saltburn, and also stars Abigail Cowen (“Fate: the Winx Saga,” “Redeeming Love”), Jack Farthing (Spencer, Rain Dogs), along with Daryl Wein (How It Ends, Something From Tiffany"s) who also produced and co-wrote the screenplay.
