Exploring Gnome Alone (2015) through our review, we cover its story, scares, and how it fits into the broader horror genre landscape.
Gnome Alone (2015) is an American low budget indie horror movie that is 94 minutes long and is a movie that I will never see again.I kind of knew that I was not in for a treat upon seeing the trailer, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Directors Timothy Woodward Jr. (Throwdown (2014), Finders Keepers: The Root of All Evil (2013), 7 Faces of Jack the Ripper (2015)) and John Michael Elfers (Finale (2009), Kiss Before the Slaughter (2011), Sanctuary Within (2004)) failed. They failed at executing every aspect of this movie. The movie contains tons of blood and violence.
Gnome Alone is about an old woman, Ms. Mae (Willow Hale) who gives Zoe a Gnome. The Gnome (Verne Troyer - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009)) is bound with magic to protect whoever owns it. Zoe (Kerry Knuppe - Skills Like This (2007), A Perfect Ending (2012), Home, James (2014), 1982 (2013)) feels as though he is facing the world alone before she had the Gnome. She soon realizes that the Gnome is no ordinary Gnome as a few of her enemies are dead. Zoe then goes on a mission to find a way to stop the Gnome from his killing rampage. There is not much to say about this movie except that it is a bite off of other movies in 2014, and it did not do a better job than those movies.
I gave this movie a score of a two because the gory kill scenes received a little credit as it was a tad bit funny at times. Two amusing deaths were the pogo-sticked death and when the green creature climbed out of a stomach. Please stay clear of this movie as I do not recommend it for anyone to see.
