Exploring Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) through our review, we cover its story, scares, and how it fits into the broader horror genre landscape.

Tom McLoughlin directed Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) had an estimated $3 million movie budget. Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI grossed $19.4 million at the US box office.

Finally, the series returns to what made it great as well as takes on a new feel. Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI has Tommy Jarvis (from parts four and five) returning to Crystal Lake to make sure Jason is dead, only to accidentally revive the decaying psycho. Soon the bodies begin to pile up as Jason makes his way back to the campgrounds.

Just the right amount of campy comedy is placed into the story at the right times, and fresh new kill scenes add a little bit of new excitement to the series. Arms are ripped off, heads twisted entirely off, and one girl face makes an impression on the side of an RV! However, this is not just the average repeat of the previous films, the story is actually good, and this movie is a must see. Look for Thom Mathews in the role of Tommy Jarvis.
