Horror fans will enjoy our review of Lost Time (2014), where we cover its story, scares, and how it ranks among modern horror classics.
Lost Time (2014) is an American science fiction mystery thriller horror movie that kept me guessing and waiting for the big moment. The big moment never came so I would not recommend this movie to viewers. Director Christian Sesma (Shoot the Hero (2010), On Bloody Sunday (2007), 6:30 (2005)) did a horrible job with executing Lost TIme. The movie contains s**ual content, violence, little suspense; slow paced, alien, illness and abduction.
The movie is about Valerie Dreyfuss (Rochelle Vallese - Jingle All the Way (1996), Humanity’s End (2009), Alien Armageddon (2011)) looking everywhere for her missing/abducted sister. Valerie had terminal cancer when she was driving home with her sister. On their way, a bright flash of light knocked Valerie out for about 12 hours. Valerie awoke to find her sister missing, and her cancer is cured leading her hair and health to regenerate miraculously. Valerie knew that whatever happened during that 12-hour period that she cannot remember is the reason for her health and sister’s disappearance. Valerie found an alien abduction expert Dr. Xavier Reed (Robert Davi - Die Hard (1988), The Goonies (1985), Licence to Kill (1989), Profiler (1996)) and went to meet him at one of his readings and later regretted all that happened after that meeting. Her boyfriend Carter (Luke Goss - Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008), Blade II (2002), Death Race 2 (2010), Death Race: Inferno (2012)) warned her not to pursue finding her sister by asking for help. Valerie ignored him and found a hidden place that is horrible in every way to humans.
I gave this movie a four because it contains things that can happen today and showed us how a real person might react to such situations. I also like the special effects and cinematography, but I cannot say the same for the sound/music. The negatives of this movie supersede the positives. The movie was way too slow and at some points outright confusing. The movie did have huge potential but deteriorated as the storyline progressed. The scenes were all too predictable. The actors did an okay job but not good/excellent. The movie was way too slow and made me want to sleep, but I stayed up because I thought the ending was at least going to make me happy, but I was wrong.
