Our honest review of Mimic (1997) breaks down its scares, pacing, and whether this horror movie truly stands the test of time.

Mimic (1997) is a good sci-fi based movie. The story of Mimic is that some insects were genetically altered to take care of the cockroach problem in New York. They do that by infiltrating the victims’ domain by looking and posing as them to become perfect predators. This goes well, for all those out there know about New York cockroach and rodent problems know it’s not easy. They do so well that eventually roaches become seemingly extinct. As we all know, evolution is a very strange and unpredictable thing. Since the prey has disappeared, the predator must evolve to eat the next thing on the food chain, namely humans. That brings us to our plot, kill and eradicate the Mimics before they develop to become so much like humans that they are indistinguishable, and they become the top of the food chain. Mimic is a good movie with great ideas and originality.
