HellHorror’s review of Nothing Left to Fear (2013) breaks down the plot, scares, cast performances, and its lasting impact on the horror genre.

Nothing Left to Fear is an okay movie to watch when you don’t have many options. I predicted the ending of this movie, and I was right. It is a pretty slow and dragged-on movie. The trailer had all the scary scenes if you call that scary.

Director Anthony Leonardi III could have done much better with Nothing Left to Fear. It does have a good storyline, but it was poorly executed. It needed more tense scenes, suspense, eery music, and scare. This movie could have done so well if the effects weren’t choppy, and some locations did not look like it was captured with a handheld camera and a shaky person videotaping. The actors and actresses ddidn’thelp this movie at. Some scenes seem so unreal. It would have been nice if Rebecca (Rebekah Brandes - Midnight Movie) told someone about her dreams and tried to figure out what they meant. Instead, the director tied her goals and the movie’s ending together, but it was too late for her to think about it all. I was thinking - okay, now what? She sees that her dreams and reality tie in together now, so what happens next? Well, nothing happens next.

Nothing Left to Fear is about a family of five moving to a new town where the father of the family will be the church’s new pastor. The city keeps a dreary secret from the mint family and unleashes a demon into the chosen MMary’s(Jennifer Stone - Wizard of Waverly Place, Mean Girls 2) body. Mary then kills each family member, and the town knows the secret and how to ward the demon off from harming their family. The city marked each house door with the letter X in lambs’ blood across the door, so the demonic Mary could not enter. I felt sorry for Christopher (Carter Cabassa - The Last Word, Special Delivery), Rebecca, and Mary’s little brother. I knew the whole family had to die except for Rebecca, but I did not want Christopher to die after Mary injured him. I was mad at the family for putting him out their front door after he ran away from Mary with an injury to his leg.

I am not a fan of this movie and will not be watching it again, but I know people out there might love it. I do not understand why Pastor Kingsman (Clancy Brown - Homefront, Hulk, The Agents of S.M.A.S.H.) had to open the portal or gateway for the demon to possess MMary’sbody and why they need to do it so often. Who is telling him to do it?
