Out of the Dark Plot Synopsis:

A young family moves to South America as the wife takes over her father's manufacturing plant in the area. They soon find themselves haunted by the ghosts of young children, leading them to a dark history and sinister behavior on the part of an American company.

Lluís Quílez"s Out of the Dark (2014) looks very promising as a horror thriller. Out of the Dark hits US movie theaters this upcoming February 27, 2015. I saw the trailer and really liked it. I was planning on watching this movie with my kids but I noticed that the film is rated R, bummer. I am not expecting too much but going in with low expectations may make the movie a little more enjoyable if it does not live up to my expectations. Stars cast in Out of the Dark include Julia Stiles, Scott Speedman, Pixie Davies, Alejandro Furth and Stephen Rea.

Synopsis / Plot Summary:  Sarah Harriman’s (Stiles) family has relocated from London to a small town in Colombia to take over her father’s business. Moving into a beautiful old home and having her father nearby, their new life in Santa Clara seems like a promising place to raise their young daughter Hannah. But Sarah and her husband, Paul (Speedman), soon learn of an ancient legend that haunts the town and has created a culture where ghosts have become the answer to anything that goes wrong.

As they settle into their new surroundings Hannah begins to act strangely, wandering off into the jungle as if following something, and suddenly falls ill. When Sarah and Paul begin to see disfigured ghost-like creatures around the house Hannah disappears, sending them on a frantic search to find her. As they delve deeper into the town’s superstitions they discover a shocking secret about their family and must uncover the truth in order to save their daughter.
