The Inhabitants Plot Synopsis:

A young couple gets more than they bargained for when they buy an historic bed and breakfast in New England only to discover that the old house is hiding a dark secret within its walls.

The Inhabitants (2015) is directed by the writers of John Carpenter"s The Ward (2010), Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen. Gravitas Ventures is releasing the The Inhabitants on VOD this upcoming October 13, 2015. Judging by the poster, there should be some sinister scares in store for us in The Inhabitants. The trailer was a little too slow in my opinion and would have liked to have seen a little more scares and action, but I understand that this is not that type of movie. Elise Couture, Michael Reed, and India Pearl are cast in The Inhabitants.

The movie was inspired by some of the obscure classics we watched growing up. Haunting films from the 1970"s like THE CHANGELING, THE HAUNTING OF JULIA, BURNT OFFERINGS, LET"S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH, and DON"T LOOK NOW. These atmospheric tales were part melodrama, part creepy ghost story, and we wanted to capture that tone in a modern day film.

Written and directed by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, screenwriters of JOHN CARPENTER"S THE WARD, and produced by international bestselling author Glenn Cooper, THE INHABITANTS revolves around a young couple that gets more than they bargained for when they renovate a neglected bed and breakfast in New England. After a series of disturbing events, the husband begins to suspect that something evil is lurking within the walls of this old house, and whatever it is has set its sights on his wife. Now he must fight to uncover the inn"s dark secret before this malicious spirit consumes everything he loves.

THE INHABITANTS was filmed on location inside one of the oldest houses in New England which was home to the Salem Witch Trial children. The Noyes-Parris House (c. 1669) was owned by the infamous Rev. Samuel Parris who was the father of Betty Parris and uncle to Abigail Williams, the two girls who made the initial accusations that led to the tragic witch trials that took place in Salem, Massachusetts.

Gravitas Ventures will release THE INHABITANTS digitally on October 13th, 2015. The film will air on multiple VOD platforms including iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu, Google Play, Xbox LIVE, Sony Playstation, various cable providers, and more. The film is also currently available for pre-order on iTunes.
