Exploring Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014) through our review, we cover its story, scares, and how it fits into the broader horror genre landscape.

Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014) is an American horror movie that was filmed in Bulgaria. Director Valeri Milev (Code Red (2013), Wrong Turn 7 (2015), Re-Kill (2013)) only had two previous directing experience and it shows in this movie because it had more potential. The movie contains s**ual content with nudity, violence, gore, a lot of bloody stabbing, suspense, decapitation, cannibalism and incest. It is not for those viewers who get queasy easily. This movie is the best of the series although I gave it a score of five.

Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort is about Danny (Anthony Ilott) inheriting a huge estate with a spa that also contains the Hillicker killing clan. The caretakers for the estate are involved in incest/sleeping with everyone possible and they serve humans as food. Danny has to decide if he wants to live in the estate that involves cannibalism and incest or… watch the movie to see. Danny is presumed to be suicidal and depressed while his friends are thieves or easy to influence. After a few events, the housekeepers for the estate do not know how to show hospitality. Danny chooses to join the clan and is escorted into the forest for his initiation ceremony. It gets really sick from this point on as if it was not sick/disturbing already. Danny has to drink his friend’s blood and have intercourse with a girl that he just found out is his sister. A lot of the family are deformed with some having missing eyes, are very short, immobilized and stay in a wheelchair or some other deformity. They are deformed because of all the incest going on and also because the Hillicker’s are either pure or inbred. Will Danny accept his new family or will he run for his life? If you are interested to know the answer then watch the movie.

One thing I learned from this movie is that every time you see Sawtooth (Danko Jordanov), Three-finger (Radoslav Parvanov) and One-eye (Asen Asenov) - know that someone is about to be decapitated. The make-up effects were done nicely and I also enjoyed the sets. The movie had way too much s**ual acts/contents going on, and I feel it was not needed. Some words describing this movie would be gory, unlimited decapitations and intercourse, nude fest, infestation, incest and cannibalism.
