Amityville 3-D (1983) shocked audiences with its ending. Our spoiler-free review explains the scares, themes, and what makes this film unforgettable.

Richard Fleischer directed Amityville 3-D (1983) was nominated for the best film award at the Fantasporto 1986. Amityville 3-D is also known as Amityville 3: The Demon (1983) and was filmed in the older style 3-D. Amityville 3-D had an estimated movie budget of $6 million and grossed $6.3 million at the US box office.

The Amityville 3-D movie stars some pretty big name actors, such as Tony Roberts, Candy Clark, Lori Loughlin and even a very young Meg Ryan. This Amityville movie is basically about a reporter that doesn’t believe in superstitions and purchases the house for a meager price. Of course, some unexplained things start to happen, as you could guess.

The 3-D effect is pretty extreme and goofy, considering you’re most likely not watching it with 3-D glasses on. Everything from tree branches, flies, to burnt bodies lunged towards the camera to try to scare you.

All in all, I found this movie pretty boring and couldn’t really get into it. If you’re a fan of the Amityville series then it’s recommended, but otherwise it’s pretty boring.
