The Brood Plot Synopsis:
A man's wife is under the care of an eccentric and unconventional psychologist who uses innovative and theatrical techniques to breach the psychological blocks in his patients. When their daughter comes back from a visit with her mother and is covered with bruises and welts, the father attempts to bar his wife from seeing the daughter but faces resistance from the secretive psychologist. Meanwhile, the wife's mother and father are attacked by strangely deformed children, and the man begins to suspect a connection with the psychologist's methods.

The Brood Limited Edition 4K UHD/ Blu-ray Box set is set for release on 31 March 2025 and will also be available as a Standard Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray. The set is presented in a stunning rigid slipcase complete with new artwork by Krishna Shenoi and comes packed with a slew of brilliant special features including a new commentary, interviews with cast and crew and an archival interview with director David Cronenberg.
Frank Carveth (Art Hindle – Invasion of the Body Snatchers) is becoming increasingly concerned about his ex-wife Nola’s (Eggar) secretive treatment at the sinister ‘Somafree Institute of Psychoplasmics’. Headed by cult figure Dr Raglan, ‘played with a typical mix of charm and menace’ by Reed (said Mark Kermode), his controversial and extreme methods seek to unleash his patients rage, which take on physical manifestations.
As Nola’s increasingly psychotic anger is vented during her sessions, brutal murders befall those at who her rage is directed. When Frank’s daughter is abducted, he is led to Raglan’s Institute where he is met by a truly terrifying, shocking confrontation, renowned as one of the most notorious scenes in horror cinema.
