Crimson Peak Plot Synopsis:

Edith Cushing's mother died when she was young but watches over her. Brought up in the Victorian Era she strives to be more than just a woman of marriageable age. She becomes enamored with Thomas Sharpe, a mysterious stranger. After a series of meetings and incidents she marries Thomas and comes to live with him and his sister, Lady Lucille Sharpe, far away from everything she has known. The naive girl soon comes to realize not everything is as it appears as ghosts of the past quite literally come out of the woodwork. This movie is more about mystery and suspense than gore.

Guillermo del Toro and Legendary Pictures are bringing us Crimson Peak (2015) which is a gothic horror movie. The new movie will open for Halloween 2015. I am a huge fan of del Toro"s so of course I have my fingers crossed for any/all promo material and that the film will be a success. Cast in Crimson Peak are Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Jim Beaver.

Synopsis / Plot Summary:  In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds...and remembers.

Why Watch Crimson Peak

Have you watched "Crimson Peak"? It's this flick by Guillermo del Toro from 2015. Picture this: a gothic romance, but with ghosts and a really spooky mansion. The main character, Edith, is this writer who ends up marrying this charming dude, Thomas. They move into his massive, run-down mansion, which he shares with his sister, and let’s just say the house has more than creaky floors.

The whole movie looks amazing. The mansion is all kinds of creepy-cool, and the ghosts? They're freaky, but in a way that’s almost pretty.

What’s cool about "Crimson Peak" is that it’s more than your usual ghost story. There’s this whole romantic plot, but it’s twisted and dark. Mia Wasikowska, playing Edith, really gets you rooting for her, and Tom Hiddleston as Thomas? He’s got this mysterious vibe going on.

So, if you like stuff with a bit of old-timey gothic charm, some romance, and a good dose of spooky, "Crimson Peak" is a great pick. It's like a ghost story with an extra layer of drama. It may not be the best choice if you’re staying in an old house by yourself!
