Why Watch Halloween: Resurrection
So, "Halloween: Resurrection" is another one of those “Halloween” movies, but with a twist that’s kinda out there. It's from 2002, right when reality TV was a huge deal. The movie’s got this bunch of college students who sign up to spend the night in Michael Myers' old house. Yep, that Michael Myers, the creepy masked guy from the other movies.
But here’s where it gets kind of weird: it’s all being filmed for a reality show. The students think it’s just for TV, sort of like a haunted house experience. But the plot twist – the real Michael Myers shows up, and it starts getting genuinely scary. Now they’re trying to figure out what’s just for the cameras and what’s real-life, super serious danger.
It’s got all the usual stuff you expect in a horror movie – people getting startled, suspenseful moments, and Michael Myers doing his thing. The whole reality TV angle gives it a fresh spin, kind of blurring what’s fake and what’s actually happening.
What’s neat about “Halloween: Resurrection” is how it plays with the reality TV concept. It’s like, what if the scary stuff you’re watching on TV was actually happening? The characters have to deal with the whole being-on-camera thing while also trying not to, you know, get caught by Michael Myers.
It’s not the top favorite of the “Halloween” series, but it’s fun in its own way. If you’re into the whole horror scene and don’t mind the early 2000s vibe, it’s worth a watch. Just don’t take it too seriously – it’s more about the fun and thrills than being a horror masterpiece. Great for a chill movie night when you’re in the mood for some spooky action with a twist!
