Two decades after the freak alien invasion that nearly destroyed mankind a new threat emerges. This Alien mothership is more than twice the size as the last one and once again, the world's armies must band together to save the world. Do they have enough firepower or will this battle change and will aliens take over?
Roland Emmerich"s Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) is the sequel to Independence Day (1996) with a lot of the original cast returning (Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum). Liam Hemsworth, Joey King, and Maika Monroe will round out the new cast. The estimated budget for Independence Day: Resurgence is already at $200 million. Independence Day: Resurgence releases in movie theaters on June 24, 2016.
