Sinister Plot Synopsis:

Writer, Ellison Oswalt moves his family into a house where a horrific crime took place earlier, but his family doesn't know. He begins researching the crime so he can write a book about it to help his career. He uses some footage he finds in the house to help him in his research, but soon finds more than he bargained for.

Sinister stars Ethan Hawk as a struggling true crime novelist who moves his family into a house where a horrific murder took place. The entire family was murdered. Eventually he finds a box full of old home videos from the previous owners. On the tapes are the brutal murders of numerous families. During his investigation he soon learns that the family may in fact be the victims of an ancient evil demon that may soon claim his own family.
Sinister is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Ethan Hawke , Vincent D"Onofrio , James Ransone.
